Porkasaurus Rex is voting for Alito, as is Tim Johnson. That brings us to 58 yes votes assuming the RINOs stay on board. The Democratic leadership doesn't want to throw the GOP into the filibuster patch, as much as some of the usual suspects would like a fight.

It might be one of the strangest Sister Souljahs to come down the pike, but Canadian PM-designate Stephen Harper's in a fight with the US over the Northwest Passage. Note to the new PM; you're supposed to break the ice with us, not building military icebreakers.
In Harper's defense, I don't think the US would like it if the Intercoastal Waterway was treated as international waters. I'm not sure if it's prudent for the US to pick that fight, unless there's some greater strategic reason to push for such straits to be treated as international waters.

Interesting trade. Wally World heads for Boston. How he'll fit in with Paul Pierce on the perimeter will be interesting; does one of them slide to the two-spot or does Szczerbiak come off the bench? Bringing Olowokandi in is an upgrade in the middle as well. The Celtics are only three games out of the last playoff spot; they'd be an interesting struggle for the Pistons if that were the case.
I doubt the Pistons drop a game in the first two rounds of the playoffs, although Miami could make things interesting. What would be really interesting is for them to play the Knicks in the first round. Think some players would be a little jacked-up to take on their old renegade coach?
