I'm probably dating myself severely, but Tropical Storm Bertha has a bad Troglodyte Saga earwig going; "Her name was Bertha... Bertha Butt... she's one of the Butt sisters." Right now, only Bermuda is saying "sock it to me, sock it to me", but depending on the spin, New England or the Maritimes could get a taste of the Bertha Butt Boogie next week.

I was too busy with church an an anniversary lunch (our sixth) to catch the Wimbledon final; the old Breakfast at Wimbledon became Dinner at Wimbledon, as a pair of rain delays and a five-set war had Rafael Nadal fending off Roger Federer. It wasn't quite the McEnroe-Borg Battle of 18-16, but they did make it to 10-8 in the fourth-set tie-break and went OT in the fifth set before Nadal prevailed 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7.
That score makes you tired just looking at it. They might of needed the rain delays, for one or both of the players would have been exhausted by the end; I caught part of the trophy ceremony on TV, and Nadal looked like he had just run a marathon.
It kept Borg's modern record of five straight Wimbledon wins on the books alongside Federer and may set up a good rivalry with Nadal to revitalize men's tennis.

The Weather Channel just got bought by a consortium of NBC, Blackstone and Bain Capital; so, we have Mitt Romney and NBC possibly tugging on TWC from opposite directions. There could be some interesting synergies and some rather sloppy ones; they're best to leave the thing alone.
