It's looking more like a Carmelo Anthony deal to the Nets is going to go down, with Richard Hamilton being part of the deal. The previous piece on the deal had the Pistons sending a #1 to New Jersey, but their half of the deal is now Hamilton (and possible unused rookie Terrico White) to Joisey for Troy Muphy and Johan Petro and a Nets #1.
Murphy is supposedly looking to be bought out of his contract, but he could be a serviceable big off the bench or even starting if he can be talked into relocating to Motown. His contract is up at the end of the year, so the Pistons and any new owner can retool with two near-max contract slots and a spare first-round pick.
This might not help the Pistons much in 2011, but it sets up a potentially fruitful off-season.
