Greece has a new PM, a banker named Lucas Papademos. He had been the #2 guy at the European Central Bank and was the head of the Greek central bank when it joined the Euro and put itself out of business as a monetary policy-making body. Critics have noted that the numbers used to get Greece into the Euro were... less than accurate and that Papademos should have known better.
However, he's largely apolitical and in a time where no one wants to be blamed for the political Superfund site that is Greece, bringing in a guy who is both a financial insider and political outsider with ECB experience to calm the rest of the Eurozone and the world financial community might be a smart move.
