13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
This extended road trip into Egypt isn't commented on much, but it runs very much counter to the idea that nothing much bad happens to faithful believers. God's own blood is getting run out of Dodge.
That should be a wake-up call to folks who assume that since God has their back, that the tornado will always miss their house and the flood waters work around their property. No, God is still with you, but that's no guarantees that all the balls bounce your way.
