9 Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, 10 and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.
I recall one boss I had half a lifetime ago who had a sign in his office "You can't fire me... slaves have to be sold." The guy lived up to that when I came down with bronchitis and got fired for taking time off (this was well before the modern medical-leave laws came in) to get better.
However, we're supposed to do our best even for jerk bosses. Unless your one of those unfortunate souls who are in a modern-day slavery setting, we're merely dealing with employers who can be insensitive, and we have the option of quitting if needed, but the message here still applies. Do a good job, don't get snippy and (within morality) follow work rules.
