I've been a bit off my feed with a summer cold, so I took a few days off of the blog.
I haven't caught much of the GOP speeches, but did catch (via YouTube) the Eastwood night at the Tampa improv. Asking the MSNBC crew what they thought of it is like asking Fred Phelps to comment on a Dan Savage speech; good for predictable outrage, which is what Moe Lane saw coming-
I do not recommend… no, wait. I do recommend that the Left freak out about this. Loudly. Viciously. Denigrate Clint Eastwood as loudly and as viciously as they like. Profanity would be a definite plus, here.
Because I believe that getting that kind of response was Clint Eastwood’s intent, frankly.
The speech was a bit PG at points (well, not directly, but what one imagined coming from the other half of the conservation was) but skewered the President in ways that liberals will be hard-pressed to counter.
[Update 7PM-Mark Steyn caught the Bob Newhart shtick that I talked to Eileen about but forgot to type and had a pass at the PG part-"I’m not generally in favor of what Rob Long would call 'working blue,' but, if you’re going to do it, doing anatomically impossible sex-act cross-talk with an invisible presidential straight-man in front of the Republican Convention is definitely the way to go."]
