I wasn't watching the Tigers-Rays game this afternoon, but the discussion after last night's Sal the Barber imitation by Fernando Rodney, just missing Miguel Carbera's chin in the 9th yesterday had discussion of payback in the Detroit paper.
Well, Tampa's #3 hitter, Ben Zobrist, got hit by a pitch in the first inning today. I was scanning the box score and saw a bunch of zeros by his spot in the box score, no at bats, no walks, which would either indicate a sacrifice bunt or a HBP; it was the latter.
Was it that she-dog named Payback? The umpires didn't kick Rick Porcello out, so it must not have been too blatant.
[Update 2:50-They did warn both benches after the Zobrist HBP-any further beanings would get pitcher and manager tossed.]
