We've had smart phones for a while, but the ubiquitousness of the critters is startling in the coverage of the Snowzilla named Jonas. One story that made the sports page had the Duquesne basketball team stuck on the PA Turnpike on their way back from last night's game at George Mason in VA; tweets about one of the players doing snow-angels on the highway and chatting with eighth-graders in a neighboring school bus to pass the time.
The close-to-home piece was on the top of the CNN piece, where I-75 south of Lexington was blocked, with crashes galore and folks running into blood sugar issues while stranded overnight. Having lived in Lexington for 2.5 years and had my inlaws move to TN at the time meant frequent trips down that patch of I-75 past Berea (one of my Sullivan U colleagues commuted in from Berea) and London mentioned in the piece.
