This is a story that if I were on radio or TV, I'd have to have that "waa-waa-waa-waa-bonk-bonk" sound of the yellow dude biting the dust. To refresh your memory, go here and grab the "PacMan dies" wav; the site doesn't like hot-linking.
Well, he didn't exactly die, but he's getting the year off for his consistantly being in the wrong place at the wrong time-
Jones' off-field conduct has included 10 incidents where he was interviewed by police. The most recent took place in Las Vegas during the NBA All-Star weekend. Las Vegas police have recommended felony and misdemeanor charges against Jones after a fight and shooting at a strip club that paralyzed one man.
Jones' suspension could be longer or shorter depending on developments in that case, an official with knowledge of the details of the suspension told The Associated Press. He requested anonymity because the Las Vegas case is still pending.
Chris Henry is getting the first half of '07 off as well for a quartet of run-ins with the constabulary.

This generation's poor-little-rich-girl had her dad established; instead of little Gloria Vanderbilt's divorcing parents going mano-a-mano, it's two boyfriends of a dead celebrity fighting for custody of the late starlet's child. That tells you a lot of where our culture has gone in 70 years.
It's the first time I've seen where guys want to lose a paternity suit. However, if the kid comes with a multi-million dollar trust fund rather than child support payments, guys are going to be more interested. One thing we know now is that the girl will not have Stern discipline in her life; whether they'd follow Spock instead is a good question.
Now, will the freak show please go away. Please.

Kevin Durant's heading for the NBA and a very high lottery pick come June. He's probably no worse than a #2 pick if Greg Odom goes pro and the team with the lucky ping-pong ball has a need for a 5 rather than a 3-4 swing-man.
Before the purists moan that he didn't stay in school longer. remember that higher education is supposed to prepare you for a career. He's as prepared as he's going to be for a pro basketball career.

This is an interesting case, especially given that we've got a Beth Moore book on the coffee table at present; the story of the pastor's wife who went AWOL at a Moore conference in Alabama two weeks ago is still ongoing. Evidence points to some emotional problems and some substance abuse problems; she might have decided to get out of Dodge.
Pastors often burn out, but pastor's wives are often under as much if not more pressure. This gal might have cracked under the pressure. We shall see. Pray for her and her family.
