It's only one game into the season, but Dallas might have stumbled into an intresting set of players that might work. Looking at the lineup last night, you have a lot of hand-me downs and rejects the likes of which haven't been seen since I was a kid.
Vince Carter had 11 points off the bench and Eddie Curry even gave some meaningful minutes fresh off the waiver wire. Elton Brand (4th team) Shawn Marrion (4rd team) and OJ Mayo (3rd pro team if you count USC) made up the majority of the starting lineup.
All five of those players are so overrated, they're now underrated. Fellow CMU alum Chris Kamen might be in that bucket as well, but he was out of commission last night, along with the well-respected Dirk.
That motley crew took out Superteam West (a.k.a. the Lakers) last night. Kobe had an odd stat line, where he scored 22 on 11-14 shooting, but was all but AWOL on the rest of the stat line; one rebound, one steal and no assists. That bum foot might have had him pacing himself in spots other than when he had the ball.
