Basketball had an old-timer's feel today in many ways. Michigan had the sons of three former NBA starts on the roster, Michigan State beat Valpo, coached by March Madness Cinderfella poster boy Bryce Drew (15 years aready?) and the Harvard-New Mexico matchup had a pair of college stars of yore in Tommy Amacker and Steve Alford coaching the teams.
Michigan and MSU both won; Harvard is the biggest dog to advance as a 14 seed, but 16 seed Southern gave Gonzaga a game until midway in the 2nd half. The big Bulldogs from Spokane managed to live up to their #1 seed so far, so they're the real big Dog left in the field.
