Someone shot up the Canadian parliament building in Ottawa. Thankfully the only casualty was a soldier on guard duty by a war-memorial nearby. A "shooter" is dead and it's unclear how much company he had.
I saw the news first on ESPN, as they noted the NHL's Senators game was cancelled as Ottawa is in lockdown mode. That prompted me to grab my News bookmark folder and grab the Globe and Mail's site.
Things are still up in the air, with people hunkering down in place and a lot of "what's happening?" chatter if this Twitter feed is any indication.
I haven't seen if there was any rationale or target to the incident as of yet. The leadership of the country seems to be out of harms' way, but there are a lot of unknown unknowns.
