This is Pentecost Sunday for those of a liturgical bent. I have an old ditty for late-season snow that I trotted out back in 2005-"I'm dreaming of a white Pentecost; Just like the ones in Ishpeming."
That actually happened today, if NOAA is accurate. Ishpeming is in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where the four seasons are June, July, August and Winter. A semi-quick check of Marquette (the nearest NOAA station to Ishpeming) did register light snow in the wee hours of this morning. It might not have been enough to really make things white, but they did have a record 1.1 inches of snow on Saturday.
